Halfway Point Update

Hey everyone,

Today is day 10 in my 20 posts in 20 days, and it has been a long journey for me. I didn’t truly realize how much work it would really take to provide interesting content daily. Based on this ‘experiment’, which I’ve had a lot of fun with, I think I’ll be changing how often I want to post.

When I first started I had it in my mind that it wouldn’t be often, say 3 times a month or so. I originally came up with this number because I believed that there wouldn’t always be new things to talk about, but I was wrong. I think it will be much easier for me to think of new topics, enough so that I can even do 2 posts a week, and split extremely long posts into several segments to spread it over the course of that week.

It should work out pretty well, and I want to thank all of you for visiting the page, telling friends, and sticking around with me. Each time I see my statistic page with number of page views each day going over 20 I feel great. Ive only done 9 posts so far, and most of it has been about me, my opinions on things, or my what I liked in the past. There’s been one or two opinion-based posts which will be the style of my blog in the future, “Things I Miss” and “Game Barriers” are examples for my future style.

For those curious about how I’ve been doing: if I exclude the starting days where I spent the day customizing the layout, I’ve spent 9 days blogging and I’ve hit 200 views. I think that’s a pretty decent start up, especially with no advertisement past Icy Vein’s Off-Topic section, a post in Natural Order’s forums, and just linking it to the facebook chat of my raid team.

I don’t have many milestones past that, 4 followers, a few comments, likes, all from 9 posts. These numbers will grow in time, and I understand that it will take effort to get them to do so. It’s been a fun but hectic ride so far, I can’t wait for it all to slow down in terms of posts per week, but I really want to see an influx of visitors.

For those who have some blogging experience, I’d like to hear some stories of how you managed to get your viewership up higher, or if you have any suggestions for me. I’m interested in seeing other people’s experiences and perspectives.

That’s about it for todays post, thanks a ton guys! I’ll give a little bonus today, two pictures of me: my before and after haircut!

Before: (Funny note: that shirt is of the straw man from Wizard of Oz saying: “If I only had a Braaaaaaaaain,” because hes a zombie.

After: (Funny note: I’m actually wearing a Hunter tshirt, since the paladin shirts were sold out 😦 )

Thanks for reading, I hope you look forward to the future posts. Leaving feedback or suggestions is appreciated. As a final reminder (and shameless plug), I am the Paladin Moderater on Icy Veins, one of the leading sites for all sorts of WoW Guides. I recommend checking them out as you main source of class knowledge.

I can be contacted at Fouton@live.com, messaging me through Icy Vein’s forums, or by finding me in-game on Fouton-Argent Dawn, Eiliar-Argent Dawn, or Deathfouton-Earthen Ring.

  1. Connect your blog to google+ (I made a separate one for me), twitter, tumblr and anything else. It will instant post to these with a link. As long as you use the Add New Post link when you click My Blog at the top πŸ™‚ Plus, I started around Blizzcon time officially so I found a lot of people following Blizzcon and followed them on twitter. Most of us like to follow like minded Blizz people! Then just searching tags for WoW etc and following others who have great posts. Again, we follow back πŸ™‚
